On March 21, myself, Kayla, and a few friends took on an adventure – travelling the entire subway network in one go. If you’re unfamiliar with the Toronto subway network, see the below subway and streetcar map:

Starting at Union at 7PM, we worked our way up the Yonge line first – all the way to Finch. At finch, we grabbed a transfer ticket at 7:42 PM as “proof.”

Up next, we went onto the Sheppard line all the way to Don Mills, arriving at 8:09 PM.

Following that was one of the longer segments, back down the Yonge line and out the Bloor-Danforth section to Kennedy, arriving at 9:22 PM. We took a quick bathroom break here (it being one of the few stations with bathrooms inside).

Following our stop at Kennedy, we rode the entirety of the Bloor-Danforth line out westward to Kipling. At 54 minutes, this was the second longest amount of time we spent on one train, arriving at 10:16 PM.

After a brief stop at a transit-side McDonalds for McFlurries on our way through, we were on our way up the University-Spadina side, out to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, arriving at 11:37 PM. The stations on the most recent extension of this line are quite drab.

And finally, we made our way back down to Union, arriving 55 minutes later at 12:32 AM.

Had Kayla and I done this trip alone, it probably would have been an absolute slog of a trip with a lot of boring sections. Doing this with 6 others, it was a way to catch up and get a sense of accomplishment, even though it was mostly 5.5 hours of chatting. It’s a memory I’ll cherish.
