Preparing for a move across the continent

While we’ve already completed the move from Toronto to Whitehorse, this post takes a look back at the time leading up to our move since my last post. We took in a lot of what Toronto had to offer before making the move. We went places we’d been meaning to go to, and went back to places we’d be sure to miss.

We finally went to a Toronto Sceptres game! The game featured a shootout win by my favourite goalie (Carly Jackson). My favourite player (Daryl Watts) scored the first goal of the game. There are many question marks ahead for the franchise now as the expansion draft nears.

I also had the chance to meet one of my favourite musicians! Lights was celebrating releasing A6 by having a record signing at Sonic Boom, so of course I waited 3+ hours in line to meet her. 10/10 human being – if you ever get the chance to meet Lights, do it!

Next up – I went to High Park with some friends during the cherry blossom season to test out my new film camera. I’m still waiting on the film to come back – so check in later!

On the 17th of May, we celebrated my wife’s 30th birthday in a joint shark-themed party with a friend of hers. The party included lots of chatter and competitive games! Everyone was given a shark hat at the start of the night, which sorted them into groups (Whale, Black Point, Greenland, and Hammerhead) for the games. Here’s me with my whale shark hat:

For the last of the main social events, we went out to a Blue Jays game on their dollar dog night. Attending dollar dog nights and eating what some would say are too many hot dogs has become a bit of a tradition for us. Who can say no to $1 hot dogs!

In addition to these bigger events, we had a good number of smaller ones. We’d play board or card games at our house, go for walks, or simply have freezies at home.
