On June 28th, Kayla and I took our first trip down the Annie Lake Road, and wow, is it ever gorgeous! The area was set to be one of the clearest areas, at least as far as Environment Canada could predict. After a gorgeous drive we were at the parking lot. While we could have driven further up the trail, it was pretty easy going anyways.

The whole trail follows an old exploration road. Signs of side-by-sides and even pickups are evident the whole way up.

We looked in several old exploration trenches along the saddle, and of course, took in the views. Kayla’s back was too sore to make it all the way to the top and so we just took a nice long lunch at the top, enjoying the view, before heading back down.

A long-forgotten can:

The trail is long but not too difficult. We absolutely loved it, and made a couple stops on the way home along the Annie Lake Road to enjoy its beauty.
