The Plume Agate Trail

The interior of the Yukon seems to have been the only place dry this past weekend, and so Kayla and I made a trip up to Carmacks to get a reprieve from the rain. We decided to try a new hike for us, the Plume Agate Trail (found from Yukon Hiking) – but first, stopped at Braeburn for a cinnamon bun. The sign along the North Klondike Highway is certainly overgrown, so you will want your directions on!

The hike itself is short and sweet, if not a little high in gradient. The path is worn, but not too worn. It’s easy on the knees! I didn’t take too many pictures, really only once we got to the top. Here’s the cliff with the rocks that give the trail its name.

And now, looking south along the North Klondike Highway. Gorgeous!!

Finally, keeping with our newfound tradition, we have our picture at the top.
