A short drive and a shorter hike

With Kayla still out east in between the two weddings, I was alone for the weekend in Whitehorse. The weather in the area was quite sunny and not too cold. My original plan was to drive down to the White Pass and hike up to Fraser/Bryant Lake, but I’d forgot to bring my passport with me. Instead, I just drove down to the Bove Island viewpoint.

A little known fact (or maybe more well known now?) is that you can hike up the outcrop on the opposite side of the highway and get a better view!

On the way back, I figured the weather was too good to just head back home, and so I stopped to do the M’Clintock West Ridge hike. The hike itself is relatively short and sweet just off the Alaska Highway. There is a trail to start, but after that it kind of turns more into a “trail”. The views of Marsh Lake are stunning, though, and I did find it worth it to hike to the second ridge.
