Back-to-back trips to Carcross

A big gap in posts is due to 10 days in the field, and then closing on our new home! We’ve spent the time packing and moving, then doing a couple small things around the house. To take a break, we took a quick trip down to Carcross on the 25th, taking advantage of clear weather.

Bennett Beach was pretty sizeable, and we had some fun breaking ice with some rocks 🙂 It almost looked tempting to jump in, but a hand check put it at way past too cold!

We took a walk across the pedestrian bridge and saw the most Grayling I have ever seen in my life. Unfortunately, I had not brought my rod and reel with me!

We did soak in the views of the bridge, too.

Of course, we had a quick drop by Bove Island viewpoint.

Finally, a quick stop by the desert:

The next morning, I took a drive back to Carcross while Kayla slept in. I finally had success with catching a couple of Grayling! We cooked them up in some fish tacos.

The scene was set with snow, compared to the day before!
