We were looking for a hike not too far from Whitehorse to stay within the good weather window. One of Kayla’s new friends recommended Stony Creek, one which I have also had my eye on for a while. The trail starts along an offroad trail up from a gravel pit along the Alaska Highway. For the first but you are along the escarpment along Stony Creek with the occasional break in the forest with some great views.

Once you get close to the top, the trail disappears and you’re somewhat left to your own devices to get to the top. The vegetation is pretty easy to walk around, and before you know it, you’re up at the top!

From the top you can see in all directions, and the views are phenomenal. It’s a long hike, but a great one.
