Yet another daytrip to Skagway

Skagway is one of our other favourite places to take visiting friends. While the weather wasn’t looking the best in the morning, it wound up being more than good enough! Of course, no visit south from Whitehorse is complete without a stop at the Carcross Desert. While it was cloudy, they added a little bit of moodiness to the scene. Lake Bennet is in the distance here.

The White Pass was mostly clouded in on our voyage south, but we did catch up to White Pass & Yukon Route steam train #73 at Fraser. I was so excited! We quickly pulled off and spent about 15 minutes stopped taking pictures.

Regarding being clouded in, here is our view at the aptly nicknamed Outhouse Hill.

We wandered around town lots, although I didn’t wind up taking any pictures. We did make the stop by the falls behind the gold rush cemetery; always work the walk!

The fog started to lift in the pass a little on our way back. We stopped at Summit Lake and got some great photos, including a short walk down to the frigid waters.

Finally, we stopped by Bove Island viewpoint on our way home just before Carcross.
