An easy little hike from home: Grey Mountain Cave

Sometimes the most convenient hikes somehow make their way far down the list.

This hike is just a hop, skip, and a jump from our front door. Somehow, Kayla and I had never done it. With some coworkers in town from the bike race, it made sense as a nice evening activity.

The first part is a drive up Grey Mountain Road, and parking at the “trail head” along the way. A lot can be said about the road up Grey Mountain. To here at least, anything with more clearance than a sports car will have no problems. In fact, we followed a little Kei truck up! The hike itself is short sweet, if a little steep. Before you know it, you’re climbing up the rebar steps into the little cave.
